Hens 'n Chicks is a catch-all name for many plants of the Sempervivum species. They get their common name by producing new plants from a central plant or cluster. They generally grow to 3 inches high and like average to dry soil and full sun. In gardens or containers, they do beautifully in the Ozarks.
