The first daylily to bloom in the garden in 2008 was this beauty, 'Saratoga Springtime', photographed on May 23rd. A few days later we learned that early estimates of the garden's riches for 2008 were much lower than the reality. The garden actually contains 3500 plants and 850 varieties!
